Fullerton Area Lunch Meeting at Beckman Coulter
Jill Foreman hosted the SLA-SCC's Fullerton area networking lunch meeting at Beckman Coulter. After lunch, Pat Ashton gave us an interesting and informative tour of the Heritage Center. Nineteen (19) librarians, information professionals and MLIS students attended the event. Thank you all for participating in this event!

Fullerton Area Lunch Meeting, February 23rd at Noon
You are invited to a networking luncheon and tour of the Beckman Coulter
Heritage Exhibit in Fullerton, CA. Librarians, information professionals and
library support staff who are currently employed, unemployed or retired and
library school students are all welcome to come.
Arnold O. Beckman, founder of Beckman Instruments was considered one of the top
five inventors of scientific instruments. Elected into the National Inventors
Hall of Fame in 1987, Dr. Beckman created devices that revolutionized the study
and understanding of human biology. The Heritage Exhibit is a unique showcase
of Beckman Coulter's contributions to industry, science and medicine spanning
nearly a century, of outstanding scientific achievements. It features a unique
collection of history-making analytical instruments and other products that
highlight Beckman Coulter's innovative advancements in science and medicine.
From electrodes to analyzers, from counters to chromatographs, experience the
treasures of science that have served mankind in countless ways since the

Long Beach Area Lunch Meeting at Claire's Cafe
Claire's Cafe at the Long Beach Museum of Art was a beautiful venue for an area lunch meeting. Seventeen (17) librarians, information professionals and library school students took some time off to enjoy the warm and sunny weather and breathtaking oceanfront view from the patio to have lunch and network!
A big "thank you" to Hema Ramachandran, Engineering Librarian at CSU Long Beach, for hosting this successful event.
